Setting Up Shipping with APIs
In addition to Flat rate, Local Pickup, and the fan-favorite Free Shipping options you can also set your store to provide real-time shipping prices quoted from top shipping providers including USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL, and Stamps.com.
First, you will need API credentials from your provider of choice. If you don’t have an account you will want to register for an account and then request a web services/developer account.
- USPS: Create an Account | Web Services
- FedEx Web Services | Create an Account
- DHL: Create an Account | Web Services
- UPS: Sign up | E-commerce solutions
- Stamps.com: Create an Account | Web Services
All options will be available in the backend but your customers will only be quoted for the carrier you set up credentials for.
Connecting Your BLCKmarket.com Store
Separate for the other shipping options to add your credentials you will visit the main Account My Account > Account Details (https://www.blckmarket.com/my-account/edit-account/)
Note: Unless you want to offer Free, Local Pickup or Delivery Options as well as options specific to your city/zip code you won’t need to set up the other shipping method.
How the APIs work is they pull the data from the products a customer has added to their cart, where they are shipping to, where you are shipping from, and the rules we’ve set up to provide the customer with rates and delivery options.
To ensure there are no errors your products will need to include all of the following:
- Dimensions (in inches) – Length x Width x Height
- Weight (in pounds)
